Photo Story: IWD 2017 Celebration WOFAN Nigeria

WfWP member Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) marked International Women's Day 2017 with the graduation of 2400 women trained in various agriculture technologies.
WOFAN donated treadle pumps for irrigation to the 80 women groups of 30 members each. The pumps use neither petrol nor diesel, are easy to maintain and conserve water. In partnership with Icrisat groundnut shellling machines were distributed as well. Other activities included demonstrations on how to use rice husks to make charcoal with reduced smoke production, resulting in faster and more economic cooking.
Hajia Salamatu Garba, executive director and founder of WOFAN: "This is our translation of BeBold4Change. Our work adds value to farming across the entire chain, and to mainstreaming gender and equity in environment issues."
