News > Water & Health project in Moldova
A working party from BPW Europe and BPW International Women for Water Taskforce visited Moldova in June 2008. Main aims of the visit were:
* to further prepare the BPW Europe capacity building project in Chisinau including talking about the legal structure and the repairs on the buildings - we are e.g. looking into sun-energy panels for the roof and rainwater harvesting
* discuss first ideas for a working conference with other (women) NGO's in Moldova on the water & Health protocol, probably this fall. In that framework the group talked with the Ministry of Ecology and the Ministry of Health and the Chair of the parlementarian committee.
The delegation consisted of Gabriella Canonica (regional coordinator) , Amelie Le Clerq (nominated - next - regional coordinator) and Lesha Witmer (Chair of the water taskforce). From Moldova, Angela Chicu and Anna Balmush participated (among others).
