MAKE THE SGDS A REALITY :
WfWP contributed to the white paper on the role of engineering to achieve SDG6 (see attachment). it explores how the modern paradigm of engineering, which inherently integrates nature-based approaches, contributes and enables national stakeholders to achieve the SDG’s through gender-responsive, human rights-based approaches. 

​“Advocacy for rivers – sandmining – Kusum Athukorala”
This publication gives an analysis of women addressing environmental impact of sand mining and the process they had to go through to make this a national issue in Sri Lanka.

​This action-oriented joint publication with IUCN draws attention to the issue of gender equality in transboundary water governance and demonstrates that positive change is happening on the ground.

​Grassroots examples of our WfWP members often show best how helping women gain access to water can transform lives. The Mwihoko Women Group in Kenya is a perfect example of the enormous difference that empowering women can make.

​Women represent an important contribution to the Water for Life Decade: this article highlights remarkable cases of women's participation that made huge differences in integrated water resource initiatives in effectiveness and efficiency. 

​How to include women in water initiatives? Which challenges do they face? What are the lessons learnt? Eight cases of WfWP members are highlighted  in Armenia, Ukraine, Tanzania, Nepal, Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria.
