Steering Committee member Diana Iskreva deputy Chair Compliance Committee of the Protocol on Water and Health
WfWP proudly announces that our Steering Committee member Diana Iskreva is recently elected as the deputy Chair of the Compliance Committee of the Protocol on Water and Health.
In the pan-European region, cleaner water and better sanitation could prevent up to 30 million cases of water-related diseases each year in the region. With this in mind, the Protocol on Water and Health was established. The main purpose of the Protocol is the protection of human health and well-being by better water management, including the protection of water ecosystems, and by preventing, reducing and controlling water-related diseases.
The Protocol on Water and Health is the first international agreement of its kind that is specifically aimed to attain an adequate supply of safe drinking water and adequate sanitation for everyone, and effectively protect water used as a source of drinking water. The Compliance Committee is the control body of the implementation of the Protocol.
The purpose of the compliance procedure is to facilitate, promote and aim to secure compliance with the obligations under the Protocol, with a view to preventing disputes. WfWP is certain that Diana will make a great deputy Chair and wants to wish her the best of luck with her new position.
