The project, which was funded by Achmea Foundation, had been a very useful project for the community. It has helped many families and schools to access clean drinking water, which translated into a healthy community, reduced incidences of water borne diseases. It has released women from the chore of collecting water from long distances through a rugged landscape. The women and the community have been involved in all decision making enhancing social accountability. It clearly demonstrates the importance of community involvement for transparency and sustainability of projects, especially in water and sanitation.
