
KWDT Partners with Ministry of Water and Environment
We are pleased to inform you that Katosi Women Development Trust was one of the 4 organizations identified by the Ministry of Water and Environment to scale up rainwater harvesting. This will be done through piloting self-supply revolving scheme in 4 districts of
Uganda in Mukono, Kamuli Namayingo and Sheema district.
“We are very glad that the approach initiated by KWDT women 11 years ago to scale up access to rain water harvesting at household through revolving schemes will be replicated by the Ministry to upscale and promote rain water harvesting”. Najjemba Harriet, Chairperson KWDT Board.
The Ministry of Water will support KWDT with UGX 150,000,000 for 3yrs to scale up rain water harvesting. The colorful occasion to launch a project was graced by the Minister of Water and Environment Hon. Ephraim Kamuntu, State Minister for Water Hon. Ronald Kibuule and district officials and implementing agencies from the 4 districts at the Appropriate Technology Center in Mukono.
