
The Black Sea women’s club (BSWC), established in 2007, is a regional network of women leaders and environmental NGOs working on the protection of main rivers flowing into the Black Sea. With its Headquarters in Ukraine, BSWC also covers Moldova, Romania and Georgia. BSWC promotes protection of water resources, eco-system approaches, and gender balance in sustainable development of the Black Sea region.
BSWC is furthermore strongly involved in stimulating inter-state cooperation with regard to transboundary issues, such as solving ecological problems in the Dniester river basin where BSWC together with other NGOs set up the project of water management democratization involvement of local communities, local councils and civil society organizations.
Other fields BSWC is active in include creation and development of infrastructures for environmental tourism and the development of environmental labeling for Black Sea beaches.
