The Margarita Lizárraga Medal
We are proud to announce that one of WfWP’s members Margaret Nakato of Katosi Women Development Trust ( KWDT) has been awarded by the “Award of Margarita Lizárraga Medal 2020-2021”
President WfWP Mariet Verhoef-Cohen express her congratulations to Margaret Nakato and the Board of KWDT:
“What a wonderful news that you, Margaret Nakato, was awarded the prestigious Medal of Margarita Lizáragga by the Director General of the FAO for the biennium 2020-2021.
Dear Margaret, you are a leader for all of us and especially a role-model for young women professionals.
Women for Water Partnership is so proud to have you as one of our members.
It was great that so many (over 550) joined the launch of the International Year of the Artisanal Fisheries 2021 so that you had widespread publicity.
Please enjoy this honour as you more than deserve it. Again, in name of all our member organizations and the whole Steering Committee of WfWP our sincere congratulations for this great achievement.”
