The Women and Labour Market Foundation (Stichting Vrouw en Arbeidsmarkt – VAM) was founded in 2003 and promotes gender equality and equity by creating economic independence for women, including in the field of water and sanitation.
VAM specializes in tailor-made vocational training and capacity development for women to manage their local facilities, acquire job qualifications and enter the labour market.
VAM supports a project in Mali empowering women and girls through training and facilitation of nearby drink water facilities and toilets, enabling girls to go to school instead of carrying water all day.
As advisor and member of the evaluation commission VAM contributes to the Learn4Work project of Edukans, a unique programme that uses the combined knowledge, expertise, networks and funding opportunities of partners in both Africa and in the Netherlands to improve vocational education in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda.
