
Women Environmental Programme (WEP) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-religious, and voluntary organization. WEP was established and registered in 1997 by a group of grass root women in Nigeria.
The overall goal of Women Environmental Programme (WEP) is to promote a sustainable society while addressing issues of gender injustices relating to environmental, economic and social rights of women, children and youth.
WEP has United Nations ECOSOC special status and has been accredited with Consultative Status to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum.
WEP partners with the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Water Resources to facilitate the implementation of the G-WIN (Girls and Women Initiative Nigeria) project, providing capacity building programmes for women in water management and sanitation in selected states across Nigeria.
