Women for Water Partnership in 2018:
We were everywhere!
Women for Water Partnership and its members look back at a highly successful 2018 in which we were visible and involved in events, activities and projects more than ever, everywhere, all the time.
Our 2018 Annual Report clearly demonstrates the impact of WfWP (as summarized in this overview) to creating a water secure world in which women are heard and empowered to exercise their full potential to achieve equitable and sustainable development. 2019 will be a crucial year to secure sufficient funding for continuation of our mission. Our work substantially contributes to the increasing understanding there is a crucial link between gender equality (SDG5) and safe access to clean water and sanitation (SDG6). The alarming impact of climate change on our global water resources further stresses the urgent need to involve women as partners, experts and leaders in water management. We are determined to do even better in 2019, in which we among many other projects and activities are key collaborating partner for World Water Week in Stockholm and member of the scientific committee of the new world (water) summit on Leaving No One Behind. |
